cease-and-desist order

【英文】At any time after the respondent has been served with a temporary cease-and-desist order pursuant to subsection（c），the respondent may apply to the Commission to have the order set aside，limited，or suspended.

【译文】根据C条规定向被告送达临时制止令后，被告任何时候都可以向委员会提出申请，要求撤销、限定或暂缓执行命令。

【解释】cease-and-desist order是政府机关要求停止违法行为的行政命令。该表达方式相当于stop order（证券停止交易通知书），但后者仅用于证劵法。

再如：

If the respondent has been served with a temporary cease-and-desist order entered without a prior Commission hearing，the respondent may，within 10 days after the date on which the order was served，request a hearing on such application and the Commission shall hold a hearing and render a decision on such application at the earliest possible time.〔译文：如果临时制止令送达被告前未经委员会听证，被告可在收到命令之日起十天内要求就其申请进行听证。委员会应该就此举行听证会并尽快对被告之申请做出决定。〕
