Introduction

Inmost Nuage: Tea Picking , a work for piano duo, reflects the unique nature and culture of Zhejiang Province, and praises local people’s good living. It was inspired by the tea picking scene the composer experienced when she collected folk songs in Meijiawu.

The whole piece is composed of two parts. The first part is based on the tune of the folk song Shun Cai Cha. It depicts the cloud-enveloped tea hills and the thriving view of spring by the sonority of two pianos.

The second part develops the tune and rhythm on the basis of the folk song Dao Cai Cha. The melody of the folk song is cut into short pieces and developed by a variety of harmonic, rhythmic and textural ways with crescendo. Dancing rhythm runs through it and brings the Lento to a climax. This part portrays the scene of a good harvest.
