Rural Revitalization

2021 witnessed the historic shifts in the focus of Shaanxi's work related to agriculture, rural areas and farmers. With 56 impoverished counties and 4.65 million registered households living under the poverty line over the province being lifted out of poverty, the problems of absolute poverty and regional poverty have been historically resolved.

Under the strong leadership of the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Government, the whole province has worked hard to solve the difficulties of system transformation, task change and work transition one after another, and established and improved the "five mechanisms", thus establishing the system of "multiple pillars" with efficient connection of all fields. Shaanxi made consolidating and building on achievements in poverty alleviation a top priority, focusing on ensuring poor people do not have to worry about food and clothing and have access to compulsory education, basic medical services and safe housing, as well as the safety of drinking water. Intensive activities such as "six checks" in villages,"six inquiries" in households, and random telephone inspections were carried out, so as to ensure no large-scale return to poverty. We responded resolutely to disasters and Covid-19, striving to eliminate their impacts. We vigorously promoted the quality and efficiency improvement of specialty industries in poverty alleviation areas, took solid measures in stabilizing employment, gave prominent support to the development of key counties receiving assistance, and spared no effort in promoting the follow-up support for people who were relocated from inhospitable areas. Among the 11 key tasks listed by the National Rural Development Administration, we have exchanged our experience at eight of them at the national meeting, or held on-site promotion in Shaanxi Province.
