Albania
On 23 November 1949, Albania and the People’s Republic of China established diplomatic relations, making Albania one of the first countries to do so in the world. The establishment of China-CEEC Cooperation has offered a new opportunity for China and CEECs to carry out closer cooperation in a wide range of areas and opened up a new model featuring bilateral and multilateral cooperation at the same time. China-Albania has embraced a new era of rapid growth since 2012, with steadily expanding cooperation in the political, economic, cultural and educational fields. Albania has taken an active part in the conferences and forums under the China-CEEC Cooperation framework and pushed bilateral relations with China forward through the multilateral platforms. The interest of both China and Albania to cooperate has grown visibly. In December 2019, Albania has become the third visa-free CEEC for Chinese passport holders, right after Serbia and Bosnia and Herzagovina. [1]
