The Telnet client

Optionally, you can install the Telnet client, as it is very useful when testing and troubleshooting. An alternative option is to use PowerShell, which is ready for use right out of the box:

1. On the Windows 2016 Start screen, right-click on the tile for Windows PowerShell. Next, on the app bar, click on Run as administrator.
2. Type the following command and hit Enter:

Install-WindowsFeature Telnet-Client
