Checking whether Windows Remote Management (WinRM) is started

It is a prerequisite to have the WinRM service running and set to Automatic. The following steps will help you with this:

1. In the Services console (services.msc), locate and select the Windows Remote Management (WS-Management) service. If the Status is not showing Started and/or the Startup Type is showing Manual, change the settings by right-clicking on the service and then clicking on Properties. This is shown in the following screenshot:

1. On the Properties dialog box, change the Startup Type to Automatic, click on Start to initiate the service, and then click on OK.
