A:Excuse me,sir,but are you Mr.John Brown from Canada?
B:Yes,I am.
A:How do you do,Mr.John Brown?I’m Chu Yuanyuan,your local guide from CITS.B:How do you do,Ms.Chu?Nice to meet you!
A:Nice to meet you too.Welcome to China.Could you tell me whether everyone of the group is here,Mr.John Brown?
B:I’m sorry to say that one lady didn’t come for business reasons.We have 17 people including me now.
A:That’s all right.But we have to make some change in room arrangements.
B:Sorry to cause you the trouble.
A:No trouble at all.Now may I have the luggage check,Mr.John Brown?
B:Of course,here you are.There are 17 pieces altogether.Shall we get our luggage as soon as we arrive at the hotel?
A:I’ll see to it that they go to our hotel as soon as possible.

Dialogue 2—Visiting Mount Huangshan

A:Among the Wuyue (Five Sacred Mountains) in China,Mount Taishan is the best.Of all the mountains in China,Mount Huangshan is the most beautiful.
B:Oh,I see.One is famous for its profound culture and the other is well-known for its beautiful landscape.
A:Right.Now let’s take Cloud Valley Telpher (云谷索道) to the White Goose Ridge (白鹅岭).
B:Ok.
A:So fast.Now we’ve arrived at the White Goose Ridge.Well,we’re heading for the North Sea Scenic Area.There you can see three wonders of Mount Huangshan except for hot springs.They are strange pines,absurd stones and seas of clouds.
B:Terrific! We watch three wonders in one day.That’s enough
A:In the North Sea Scenic Area you can see many charming tourists sites:the Shixin Peak (始信峰),the Lion Peak,the Refreshing and Clear Terrace (清凉台),the Monkey Gazing at the Sea,the Flying Stone and more.If you want to see them all,you have to stay here tonight.
B:We don’t want to hurry all the way.We’d like to enjoy the charming landscape.The strange pines,absurd stones and sea of clouds are all wonderful!
A:The Shixin Peak is the first scenic spot we will visit in this area.No one belives the magic of Mount Huang only when he comes to the Shixin Peak.
B:This peak really lives up to its reputation.I see the peak is covered with grotesque stones.The pines of various shapes just stand on the rocks.
A:Oh,yes.You may view the peak from different angles.The magnificent rocky peak will inspire your imagination.Many stones take the shape of human and animal figures.
B:That’s really true.Some look like old man,some look like birds and others like animals.
A:Fantastic,isn’t it?It is one of four wonders on Mount Huangshan—absurd stones.Every stone has its own legend.Just have a rest before we leave for the next scenic spot.
