Candidate A

As for me, I enjoyed my middle school life most, which was the most wonderful time of my life. I was no longer a child, so I knew how to cherish people’s relationship. During that time, we didn’t bother to enter a good college. I really miss my middle school life.

Candidate B

I enjoyed my life in high school very much. My life in high school was busy and fulfilling, due to the ultimate goal—College Entrance Examination. I got a sense of achievement when I did well in my study or made progress. And those classmates who know me a lot and witness all of my emotions are my best friends forever.

The picture actually shows us the inequality between key schools and ordinary schools. In recent years the problems caused by education inequality have attracted the public’s attention.

I think there may be three problems about education inequality in distribution of resources. One, it is unbalanced between key schools and common schools. Two, it is unbalanced between rural schools and urban schools. Three, it is unbalanced among different regions. To change this situation, I think, the government spending on education should be increased, and the allocation of public resources should be given priority to common schools, rural schools and the developing regions.

I know for solving this problem we have a long way to go, but our government has taken measures to deal with it. It will be settled in the near future.

Candidate B

As we can see in the picture, the cake being given to the “key school” is bigger than others, though it has fewer students. It vividly depicts a phenomenon that arouses people’s concerns, that is, the education inequality.

As a student, I’m sincerely concerned with this. From my own perspective, the leading action we should be encouraged to take is to distribute resources more sensibly. Local government should narrow the gaps between key schools and common schools. And the regional inequality in education should be decreased. Children in remote areas need educational facilities and resources more eagerly. I venture that we may cancel the setting of key schools—the main source of education inequality, and take all as equal. Besides, parents should be calm about this, too.

亮点表达

key schools 重点学校

depict a phenomenon 描述了一个现象

arouse people’s concerns 引起人们的关注

高分表达

Candidate A: Hello, Chen Tao, have you ever thought about education inequality? It has aroused public’s attention recently, and our government is taking measures to deal with it.

Candidate B: I have heard of that. But I don’t think it can be solved easily. There are many kinds of inequalities due to economic reasons. As we know, there are inequalities between rural and urban schools, big cities and small towns. The teaching resources, the educational facilities are different.

Candidate A: You are right. The news that people buy school district housing at a very high price emerges every day. Because entering a key school also means a very big chance to enter a good university. You know, parents want their children to have the best education.

Candidate B: That’s true! Key schools have better education resources. And when comes to the college entrance examination, a college has different admission policies for different provinces. I do think it’s a kind of education inequality.

Candidate A: I get what you said. And I know how it feels.

Candidate B: Some parents even consider moving their residence to those regions where they think the chances for their children to be enrolled by an ideal university are more.

Candidate A: Parents’ love is universal! Do you think we can solve this problem soon?

Candidate B: Maybe not. It’s really hard to solve this problem. Our country is a big one. No country can make each inch of their land in the same economic level.

Candidate A: Hmm. Make sense. Different regions have different abilities to allocate public resources into education, which cannot simply be changed by government decisions.

Candidate B: I agree with you.
